Stefano Fantacone

Stefano Fantacone specializes in macroeconomics and applied econometrics. He focuses much of his work on Italy, evaluating the country’s economic policy, quantitatively analyzing the Italian business cycle, constructing econometric models of the Italian economy, and examining the competitiveness of the Italian model of specialization.
In international economics, his interests center on adjustment policies in high-inflation countries, problems of macroeconomic coordination within the European Monetary System, the evolution of international monetary system, the synchronization of the business cycle and asymmetric shocks in Europe, and fiscal policy in Europe after EMU. He also looks at industrial policy in relation to regional development and policies for small-and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
